One more stamp...because I'm...really bored? XD

No, really though. I am SO tired of people always like "Well I can't do this and that, I only have Paint" or someone making this complete CRAP piece of 'art' and boast about how they did it only in Paint and get twice as many comments as a lot of pixel artists out there like "OMG! I can't believe you did that in just paint! You're so awesome!!!!"

It's like everyone only expects crap to come out of Paint, so when they see something slightly less craptastic the person who made it suddenly "OMG AWESOME!"
I do ALL of my dolls/bases/whatever in NOTHING but Paint, okay? Sure I do use photoshop to SAVE the file because I admit Paint isn't so nice with making things transparent, but that has nothing to do with what you can MAKE in it, and there are tons of free programs to save things transparent for you so yeah..I'm tired of all the excuses. I get that some people just can't use a certain program/art medium/etc, but that doesn't make that program/medium automatically crap, does it?

And just to make it clear so I don't get people mad at me, I don't think people who do dolls/pixel art in photoshop are like..'cheaters' or don't work as hard. Definitely NOT. I envy those who can make a doll in photoshop because I don't think I ever could. What I don't like is people saying Paint isn't just as good as Photoshop/*insertotherprogramhere* for making ART. Plain and simple. Paint is capable of making art just as good or even better than photoshop at times. So yeah...I get tired of seeing junk like that.

I am a proud MS Paint user and that's not going to change until pixel art completely dies...and I don't see that happening.

Sorry for that rant there...I seem to like ranting on stamps. XD So um...I guess that's about it. Paint FTW. :D

I wouldn't say "just as capable" when it comes to features.  I mean, if someone wants to draw something with smooth blending, anti alias, and gradients, MS Paint might not be the best choice for that certain type of work (I mean it's possible but much much more difficult without making it look like pixel art if the version of MS Paint is XP or below.  I think pixel art is absolutely fascinating, but it might not be the effect the person wants to achieve in their piece of artwork).

HOWEVER! When it comes to art in general, fancy features do not matter at all because it is the artist making the art.  Not the program.  As long as person can draw in a program, that person has the capability of making fabulous art!  MS Paint was never crap, and it even has features that I wish were in other programs! XD

Woah, holy cow that was amazing! :wow:  Damn....

I guess what I meant was for much shorter periods of time. ^^;  I don't think I would have the patience to be able to spend 50 hours using any program. XD  Also, I DID say it was possible!  Just a lot more work...like the work put into the video. XD

I love MS paint! It was my first art program and I learned a lot by using it.
Also it is fun to draw with, because it's pixely which is fantastic for pixel art.

Agreed. I'm an MS Paint user myself, and I draw most of my artwork on it, and if I do say so myself, I do a pretty decent job.

I just wanted to say this is my most favorite stamp on deviantART. I have used MS paint for every digital piece of art I ever did. Ms paint is not CRAPPY. It does not make automatically talented. It's definitely not hard to use either. Just get to know the program. It may not have professional features, but it makes good art.

I probably would use paint for my artwork but I usually need layers for most of my art so...

I'm lost with it.

But I've seen amazing work done with it!

1) Draw the picture on paper.
2) Take a photo and upload it to your computer.
3) Open the photo up in MS Paint.
4) Trace the drawing using the line tools.
5) Once you have everything you want traced, invert the color.
6) Press CTRL+E and click Black and White. On the message that pops up afterwards, click yes.
7) Press CTRL+E again and click Color.
8) Invert the color so that the background color is white and the lines are black.
9) IMPORTANT: Be sure to save it first, as a PNG. That way, it's easier to color and shade.
10) Color and shade however you want. Then save when you're done.

It may seem like a lot of steps, but once you get the hang of it, it's pretty easy.
